We also wish to express our gratitude to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services for their wonderful support and funding.
And to those who have given of themselves personally with both time and finances, we wish to extend our special thanks and blessings.

DBSA~Oklahoma
is a not-for-rofit organization (501c3) and an independent affiliate of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), the nation's leading consumer/patient-directed organization which focuses on the most prevalent psychiatric disorders.

Our Mission:
To improve the lives of people living with mood disorders.
A note on donating

Recently, while visiting our office, someone asked "Doesn't being a nonprofit mean that you can't have any money and everything must be done by volunteers?"

Unfortunately, this sometimes seems to be the case for many nonprofits, but nowhere is it written that it must be. In order to protect the vital programs that DBSA-Oklahoma provides, it is necessary to do more than just scrape by.  The mailing of our newsletter alone, uses one-quarter of our monthly budget. Our hope is to grow the funds that we gratefully receive from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services so that we can avoid fiscal problems.  It is to this end that I ask you to consider the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance of Oklahoma as you decide where to give your support in 2006 and beyond.

If you'd like to discuss this with us, we'd be very happy to give you any information you need to make an informed decision about your giving to DBSA-OK.
