Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Oklahoma (DBSA-OK) is a state branch of the national organization. DBSA-OK began in 1991 with their first support group in Oklahoma City, and now offers free, peer led support groups located around the state of Oklahoma. We provide training and educational classes for those who are looking to facilitate support groups, or further their recovery journey.
DBSA-OK also holds regular facilitator summits to provide support and further education of our facilitators. We provide a wide variety of informational brochures and pamphlets on different aspects of mental health disorders, and we reach out to the public by attending different state conferences and events.
DBSA-OK holds two annual events for our consumers, volunteers and family members. We have an annual picnic and silent auction in the fall, and George Kotwitz Memorial Fundraiser which is held in early December. We also work closely with other consumer advocates around the state.
